What is Internal Family Systems?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) sees your mind as having different 'parts', each with its own distinct role and perspective. These parts can sometimes conflict with each other, leading to emotional challenges. IFS helps you understand and communicate with these parts, and build internal harmony. The goal is to find more balance and overall wellbeing by integrating these parts of you into a more cohesive self.
Embrace the unique parts of you
Within each of us exists a rich inner world made up of distinct parts, each with its own feelings, beliefs, and roles. Some parts protect, some strive, and others carry old wounds. By getting to know these inner aspects with curiosity and compassion, you can begin to understand their purpose and release the burdens they hold. Instead of feeling overwhelmed or stuck in patterns, you gain insight into the deeper layers of your experience.




Cultivate inner harmony and freedom
When parts of you are in conflict - one pushing forward, another holding back - it can feel like an internal tug-of-war. By building a relationship with these parts, you create space for understanding and healing. When they feel heard and acknowledged, their intensity softens, and their protective roles shift. This process leads to a greater sense of inner peace, where all parts work together rather than against each other, allowing you to move forward with clarity and ease.


Live from your true Self
At the core of your being is your Self - the calm, confident, and compassionate leader within. When you connect with this grounded presence, your parts no longer have to struggle for control or act out of fear. Instead, they can relax, trust, and take on healthier roles.
With Self in the lead, you respond to life’s challenges with wisdom and ease, fostering inner balance and clarity. This deep alignment allows you to move through the world with authenticity, strength, and an unshakable sense of wholeness.


When I use IFS in my work, you will be gently guided to focus inward and notice what thoughts, emotions, or sensations arise. Rather than analysing or trying to change anything, we simply get curious. You may start to recognise different aspects of yourself - perhaps a critical voice, a protective instinct, or an underlying vulnerability. By acknowledging these parts with openness, you begin to understand their intentions and how they have been working to support you.
As the session unfolds, we help these parts feel heard and supported, allowing them to relax and shift naturally. There’s no force or pressure - just a deepening awareness that brings clarity and relief. Over time, this process leads to lasting transformation, as your inner system finds more balance, and you move forward with greater confidence, ease, and self-trust.
